We urgently need help!

Submitted by levin on Fri, 10/04/2009 - 01:21.

Open Radio is online since 2007. Even though we have started with too less people and are currently not even on the same continent anymore, the site's publicity has grown and the last time we had about 1000 hits per day.
The sad thing is, that the group has hardly the capacity to check the content and if the stream is still running on a daily basis.
So: we need new people!
There are a lot of different tasks, so you can be helpful with different skills:
The project needs advertizing; flyers, posters, events, info-evenings, buttons, whatever you can think of
The project needs regular work, such as administering the content, maintaining the software, helping with further development.
Unregular help is useful, too: fixing a special bug, finding bugs and reporting them, organizing a benefit party, downloading our flyers and spreading them, etc.

One of the initial thoughts was, to also include live streams from other people/groups. that would open a whole new potential of connecting protest and subculture. even though we don't manage to do that at the moment, we still hope for new people to like that idea and help bringing it further...

At the moment, content is mainly german and sometimes english, though the site is meant to be an international tool for connecting grassroot reporting and culture of resistance. all content has to be under a free licence-we suggest creative commons. that allows people to legally play our stream in public without having to pay some copyright "protecting" organization.

There is a lot more to say about how great Open Radio is and can become. ;-)
If you want to know more or give us feedback, write in english or german to
